Born in Co. Meath, Ireland, Marina Cassidy’s musical talent was quickly spotted, so that she began her musical education at the age of six. When at Mount Sackville, Dublin, she studied both harp and singing for years under excellent tutelage, and it is these twin talents that she has continued to nurture ever since, not least in London at the Mayer Lismann Opera Centre. Many awards have been won, most notably the Irish Vocal Heritage Award 2000, gold medals at Feis Ceol, and the Alec Redshaw Trophy for best classical song recital. Since moving to Killarney, Co. Kerry where she lives with her husband Tim and their 5 children she continued her vocal studies at the Cork School of Music.

 In 2012, her  skills as a singer / harpist gained her a Fellowship of The Guild of Musicians and Singers in the UK.  She holds a Diploma with Distinction in Singing Performance  from The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in the UK and in Harp Teaching from  Trinity College of Music, London and the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She also has a B.Ed ( Honours) Degree.

As a young musician, Marina performed at a number of Irish venues, including Bunratty  and Knappogue Castles in Co. Clare, but a period at the Park Hotel, Kenmare, Co. Kerry  provided something of a career breakthrough. Here, her talent and delightful personality were displayed before guests who were visiting from all over the world and she received invitations to perform in venues in the US, France, Germany, Holland, Denmark and the UK. 

The rich, pure quality of her soprano voice and her ability to interpret her material, musically and emotionally, enhancing the sentiments of each song gives the listener her unique insight, to produce an uplifting and rewarding experience. Her gifted voice combined with her craft as a harpist, weaving a magical web which catches us all within its 



A much travelled concert artist, Marina has performed at 20th Century Fox Studios, Los Angeles and at Kensington Palace in London as well for many prestigious events in Ireland and on the continent of Europe and in the US.

In the past few years she has been guest  soprano soloist with Chichester Voices choir in performances of Handel’s ‘Messiah’, Rossini’s ‘Petite Messe Solenelle’,  John Rutter’s ‘ Feel the Spirit’, Andrew Carter’s ‘ Horisons’ and Michael Walsh’s ‘ The Way of Love’ in the beautiful cathedrals of Chichester, Portsmouth and Arundel. In recognition of her work she received a Fellowship from the Guild of Musicians and Singers at a ceremony in the Church of All Hallows by the Tower of London in October 2012.  Following the ceremony Marina presented a recital of Harp music and Songs and was accompanied on Piano in several songs by Declan Walsh, Organist and Pianist from Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Marina has made a number of television appearances for RTE and is in constant demand in concert in this country. This highly gifted singer and musician finds her greatest sense of achievement and artistic fulfilment in singing and performing the music of her native land.

  • Guest Soloist at Chichester Cathedral in John Rutter’s ‘Feel the Spirit’, ‘Mass of Children’ & Michael Walsh’s ‘Way of  Love’

She has collaborated with Wildlife photographer Sheena Jolley in their programme The Music of Nature with Marina’s music providing a dramatic backdrop to Sheena’s stunning photos. These performance have taken place At the Blasket Centre in Dingle, the Grain Store at Ballymaloe House, the Cork School of Music as well as the Carnegie Arts in Kenmare.

She has given recitals in some of the country’s best known hotels including The Park Hotel Kenmare, Aghadoe Heights Hotel Killarney, The Malton Hotel Killarney, The Hotel Europe Killarney, Dunloe Castle Hotel, Ard Na Sidhe Caragh Lake, The Brehon Hotel Killarney, the Cahernane Hotel Killarney, Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare.
